Richard Thomas Simons, 83, died on Jan. 11, 2018.
Mr. Simons is survived by his wife, Bobbie Lee Simons of 61 years; daughters, Barbara Lively of Baton Rouge and Nancy Faucheux and husband John of The Woodlands, TX; a sister, Mamie Huffman of Grapevine, TX; and grandchildren, Rick Lively, Rebecca Lively, Noah Lively, Janelle Faucheux, and Michael Faucheux.
He was from Athens, Louisiana and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe where he met his wife, Bobbie. They started their marriage in Germany while Richard was serving in the U.S. Army. They returned to South Louisiana where Richard worked in the oilfield for 42 years and owned his own business, Mud Mart. He was residing in Houma and enjoyed retirement, mainly working crossword puzzles.
