Richmond Boyd Sr., 72, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006.


Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to funeral time Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland, La.

Religious service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at the church, with burial in Third Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Raceland, La.


He is survived by three sons, Rev. Richmond Boyd Jr. and wife, Tammi, of Thibodaux, La., Marvin James Boyd and wife, Emma, and Curtis James Boyd and wife, Angela, of Raceland, La.; two brothers, Johnny Boyd Jr. and Hezekiah Triggs of Thibodaux, La.; three sisters, Jeanette B. Gray of Vacherie, La., Kate B. Rose of Lockport, La., and Estelle B. Folse of Raceland, La.; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Boyd Sr. and Lommie Boyd; three brothers, Ernest Boyd, Aubrey Boyd, and Eddie Boyd Sr.; and five sisters, Ethel Robinson, Olevia Boyd, Ora Mae Folse, Ida Baptiste and Kathyleen Lee.

Mr. Boyd was Baptist and an United States Army Veteran of the Korea War. His hobbies included cooking.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
