Ricky “Slick Rick” Cheatham, 49, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.


Mr. Cheatham was a former employee of Performance Energy Services.


He is survived by her daughters, Jasmin Lynn and Niya Renisha Cheatham; sisters; Antoinette (Mark) Jupiter, Jennifer (Jerry) Beloney, Lori (Joseph) Magee, Greta (Cassius) Myles, Darlene (Ronald) Bill and Tammy Cheatham; brothers, Fredrick and Bobby Oatis; step-sister, Annya Ausama; step-brothers, Kenneth and Calvin Sanders, Byran and Brent Meads, and Charles Oatis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice Oatis and Hayward Meads; and stepfather, F.B. Oatis.

He is buried at St. Philomena Catholic Church Cemetery. (Williams & Southall)
