Rita Blanche Boudreaux Rhodes, 89, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.


Mrs. Rhodes was a homemaker and founder of Humpty Dumpty Kindergarten. She was an accomplished and award-winning artist as well as a former president and lifetime member of the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, painting, arts and crafts and just being with her family and friends.


She is survived by her sons, Michael (Roslyn) and Keith Rhodes; daughter, Kathy Rhodes; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Rhodes; parents, Henry and Angelina Boudreaux; brothers, Andrew and Rudolph Boudreaux; and sisters, Marie Fonseca, Irene Matherne, Nellie Malbrough and Aline Darcey.

Interment was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum. (Chauvin)
