Rita Garnet Caillouet Chiasson, 77, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Chackbay, La., died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 25.
She is survived by two sons, Rusty Chiasson and Stephen Caillouet; three daughters, Sandra Hotard, Glenda Miller and Debra Stevens; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Yank” Chiasson; her parents, Luke Caillouet and Annette Morvant Caillouet; one son, Jimmy Paul Chiasson; three brothers, Eves, Gilbert and Felix “Slim” Caillouet; three sisters, Doris Daigle, Quida Landry and Emelda Aube’; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 10 a.m. to funeral time Friday, June 27, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
