Rita Mae Cancienne Hardaway, 89, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013.
Mrs. Hardaway was a lady who loved life and spending time with her family. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden, cooking and crocheting for her family.
She is survived by her children, Emmett Jr. (Donna) and Derald (Connie) Hardaway and Linda (Thomas Sr.) Souza; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Emmett Hardaway Sr.; Sullivon and Mamie Cancienne; two brothers; and two sisters.
Interment is at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
