Terrebonne’s derelict vessel removal first phase complete
June 22, 2011Rita Mae Michel Bonner, 88, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, La., died Monday, June 20, 2011.
Mrs. Bonner was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking and spent as much time as she could with her family which was her life like so many South Louisiana women.
She is survived by her sons, Brent Sr.(Laurie) and Steven (Monique) Bonner; daughters, Sandra Bonner, Susanne (Stanley) Shockley and Mary Ashman; sister, Sister Joyce Michel MSHC; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bonner Sr.; parents, Lawrence and Myrtle Michel Sr.; son, Eugene Bonner Jr.; brothers, Lawrence Jr., Hilton, Floyd, Mitch and Daniel Michel; and sisters, Theresa Canty and Angeline Guidry.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Twin City Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a memorial mass to follow. Burial will be at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
