Robert “Bob” Leslie Higgins, 80, a native of Schriever, La., and resident of Arlington, Wash., died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010.


Mr. Higgins graduated in 1952 from LSU in mechanical engineering. He joined the Navy and was commissioned to Key West, Fla. After two years in the Navy, he joined the Naval Reserves, achieving the rank of captain. In 1958, he moved to Kitsap County, Wash., where he worked as the head of data processing at Keyport until his retirement in 1984. He was an excellent chef, calling upon his Cajun heritage for inspiration. He was an active member of Kitsap Computing Seniors and served various roles including president.


He is survived by his children, Marion (Deb), Jane, Leslie (Jamie), Susan and Jon (Gina); and six grandchildren, Reece, Julia, Jordan, Alex, Lucien and Nathan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay, to whom he was devoted for 44 years.
