Robert “Bah-Bee” Legendre, 71, a resident of Gonzales, La., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011.


Mr. Legendre retired from BASF of Geismar after 32 years of service. He was a eucharistic minister, a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and St. Mark’s Knights of Columbus, and a pro-life advocate.


He is survived by his wife, Marion Lassere Legendre; children, Elizabeth (Wally) Warren, Roberta (Timothy) Watts, Ricky (Chanel) Legendre and Tina (Dwayne) Labatut; sisters, Elsie (Charles) Landry and Mary (Roy) Boudreaux; brother, Ansel Legendre; six grandchildren, Taylor Ford, Christopher Warren, Randal Legendre, Jacob and Emily Labatut and Jessie Watts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Lorena Legendre; two grandchildren, Ashton and Austin “Bo Bo” Ford; his father and mother-in-law, Claude and Irena Labat; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Legendre.


Pallbearers were Kirk Legendre, Paul Labat, Taylor Ford, Christopher Warren, Randal Legendre and Jacob Labatut; gift bearers were Roberta and Jessie Watts, and Tina and Emily Labatut; and readers were Ramona Cortez and Sandra Constant.

Thanks to Dr. Jiha, Dr. Knapp, Dr. Moraes, St. Joseph Hospice, and last but not least my family and my friends and all of my prayer warriors.

He is interred at Hope Haven Mausoleum.
