Robert “Bob” Thibodaux Jr., 86, a native of Destrehan, La., and resident of Schriever, La., died at 11:10 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010.


Mr. Thibodaux served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, Company A, 1269th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II. He received the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations. He was a member of the Thibodaux Kiwanis Club, and owner of Bob Thibodaux’s Furniture Repair and Upholstery in Schriever for 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Florence LeBlanc Thibodaux; children, Margaret Allen, Robert “Buster” (Julie) Thibodaux III and Jane (Timothy) Bourgeois; sisters, Vivian Laird and Barbara Chauvin; brothers, Vernon and Paul Thibodaux; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is buried at St. Bridget Cemetery in Schriever.
