March 15, 2012Roberta Bellamy Wasdin, 79, a native of Scott County, Va., and resident of Hahnville, La., died at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012.
Mrs. Wasdin was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, traveling and working puzzle books. She was a loving mother, caring wife and was devoted to her family. She was Baptist.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Connie) DeVault; stepsons, Terry, Earl, Neal, Al and Andy Wasdin; daughters, Janice Cox, Evelyn Neil, Kathy (Hilton Sr.) Smith, Betty DeVault, Phyllis (Jack) Portier and Paula Aucoin; stepdaughters, Barbara Brown and Debbie and Sherrie Wasdin; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wasdin; parents, Claude and Brace Bellamy; sons, Richard Light and Irving Aucoin; stepdaughter, Carolyn Wasdin; brothers, Jim, Howard and Bill Bellamy; and sisters, Alberta, Lucille, Jean and Pauline Bellamy.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma, La., with services to follow. Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery. (Samart)
