Local teenager was a true hero, always fought the good fight

January 16, 2012Roberta L. Jones, 82, a native of Oskaloosa, Iowa and resident of Morgan City, La., died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012.
Mrs. Jones served in the Ladies Auxiliary at Teche Regional Medical Center for over 25 years. She was tremendously loved by her family and her friends and will be dearly missed by them.
She is survived by her children, Laurie (Frank) Elliott, Vickie (David) Bender, John (Cheryl) Jones and Tammie Gore; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jones; and parents, Dave and Doris VanNess.
Entombment was at Morgan City Mausoleum. (Twin City)
