Roland Broom, 82, a resident of Lafourche Parish, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011.
Mr. Broom was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Broom; daughters, Althea Clarkson, Leverna Broom, Carmen Howse and Janice Nance; sons, Roland Jr., Terrell (Donna) and Glenn Sr. (Erica) Broom; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Sr. and Beulah Broom; sisters, Irene Randall, Corrine Coleman and Octavia Broom; brothers Willie Jr., Anthony, Milton, Harry, Freddie, Simon and Junius Broom; and grandsons Ameico McGinnis and Terrell Broom Jr.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church Cemetery. (Kennedy)
