Roman Antoine Guidry, 89, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died at 9:35 pm on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.

Mr. Guidry was a Air Force veteran, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion for more than 60 years. He was dedicated to Red Cross, serving as Lafourche Parish and Southeast Louisiana Red Cross chairperson. He was named the 1966 “Outstanding Member of the Year” by the Young Men’s Business Club and received the chamber’s “1980 Pioneer Award for Community Service.” Mr. Guidry was also active with the Boy Scouts, the Cut Off Fire Department, Youth Center and Fishing Club, and owned RAG Hardware for more than 60 years.
