Ronnie “Tosie” Chauvin, 65, a native of Houma, La. and resident of Garland, Tx., died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2007.
A private family service was held at St. Pieus Catholic Church in Garland.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Fly Chauvin; one son, Thomas Chauvin; one daughter, Valerie Jiede and husband, Tom; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Jiede; two sisters, Bonnie Jackson and husband, Daniel, and Joan Ann Cenac and husband, Charles; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Rose Fly; three sisters-in-law, Judy Chauvin, Judy Dewey and husband, Wes, and Sandra Fly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lula Lovell Chauvin; and one brother, Danny Chauvin.
He graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1960, attended Louisiana State University and graduated from Nicholls State University. He was a coach, teacher and school administrator for 40 years. He was a loving and caring person and a great mentor to the students he taught and coached. He loved sports and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
