Ronnie Joseph Morgan Sr., 63, a resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.


Mr. Morgan was a dedicated and hard worker and was employed with Lafayette Electrical for four years. He also worked with the St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office as an investigator for over 15 years. He had an immense love for his vehicles which he was known for keeping in immaculate condition. He never met a person that didn’t instantly like him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.


He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jacalyn Morgan; children, Ronnie Jr. and Sammy Morgan, Melissa (Robert) Hidalgo, Jenna Gros and Claire LaCoste; brother, James (Joann) Morgan; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Theresa Morgan; and an infant son.

Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Hargrave Funeral Home with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. Graveside services will be at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
