Rosa “Meme” Jane Robichaux, 96, a native of Paincourtville, La., and resident of St. Joseph’s Manor in Thibodaux, La., died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011.


Mrs. Robichaux was a member of St. Elizabeth Parish and was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Award in 2007 for her service to the parish. She attended St. Elizabeth School, and graduated from Ascension Catholic School in Donaldsonville, La.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Rebecca “Becky”) Robichaux; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Robichaux; son-in-law, Dr. James Dugal; 12 grandchildren, Lisa (Joey) Bonvillain, Julie (Tim) Edens, Jerry (Lori) and Tommy Dugal, Dr. Nancy (Dan) Perrier, Becky Sue (Jerome) Politz, Henry “Bubby” (Dana “Sissy”) and Randy (Connie Sue) Robichaux, Dianne (Lance) Bordis, Troy (Shannon) and Judd (Carrie) Robichaux and Robyn (Jayme) Coddou; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a very special great-niece, Gwen Calvaruso.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Munson Robichaux; parents, Henry and Lucia Martinez; one daughter, Dianne Dugal; one son, Henry Robichaux; sister, Lucy Sternfels; and twin sister, Rosa Mae Young.
