Rosalie W. Bass, 74, a native of Houma, LA. and a resident of Terrebonne Parish, LA., died Sunday, April 15, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Henry Bass Jr. and wife, Katherine, Alexander Bass and Charlie Bass and wife, Linda; two daughters, Ione Bass Dillard and Deborah Ann Bass Jones and husband, Michael Jones Sr.; one brother, Northern Nixon; three sisters, Rosemary Nixon, Vivian Nixon and Ruth Miller; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hortance Stewart Whittaker Nixon; her father Henry Whittaker; her stepfather, the Rev. Cleveland Nixon; one daugher, Janice Bass Williams; three sisters, Gladys Nixon, Ruby W. Wolfe and Margarite N. Sims; and one brother Lloyd Nixon.
She was Baptist and a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
