Rose Mary Buquet Bergeron, 88, a native of Franklin, La. and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday September 1, 2007 at 2:14 a.m.


She is survived by four sons, Ronnie Bergeron and his wife Kate, Dwight Bergeron and his wife Norma, Wayne Bergeron, and Perry Bergeron; five daughters, Juanita “Pie” Lajaunie and her husband Frank, Reba Burnette and her husband Donald, Claire Hatch and her husband Lynn, Robin Garnett and her husband Anthony Duhon, and Merry Beth Fleming and her husband Jason; one brother, Arthur Buquet; one sister, Juanita Schouest; 40 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Bergeron Sr.; her parents, Dovie and Lillian Hebert Buquet; three sons, Sterling Bergeron, Jr., Gene Bergeron, Sr. and Leland Bergeron, Sr.; six grandchildren, Cindy, Scotty and Sandy Bergeron, Rhonda Lajaunie, Rory Hatch, and April Bergeron; one great-grandson, Julian Price; four brothers, Ardie Buquet, Warren Buquet, Clifton Buquet, and Alton Buquet; and three sisters, Margaret Chatagnier, Gloria Kramer, and Shirley Mae Buquet.

Rose was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was a homemaker.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 4, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and Wednesday, September 5, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Anthony Catholic Church. She will be buried in the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
