Rose Landreneau Dunckelman, 87, a native of Ville Platte, La., and former resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012.


Mrs. Dunckelman was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Ville Platte and Baton Rouge Business College. She retired after 20 years of service as a secretary with the Louisiana State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation in Houma.


She is survived by her children, John (Leslie), William and Samuel Dunckelman, Elfrieda (William) Bayhi and Mary (Lennis) Cook; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Dunckelman; parents, Avenant and Lolita Landreneau; and brother, Louis Landreneau.

Burial was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
