May 7, 2014Rosetta Nell Ballard-Stewart, 90, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Gibson, La., died Thursday, April 24, 2014.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Jr. and Roosevelt Stewart; daughters, Jeannie and Christine Stewart, Eartha Johnson, Rosetta Jones, Penny Kennedy and Maria (John) Ward; sister, Helen Bailey; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stewart Sr.; son, Michael Stewart; daughter, Vivian Young; parents, Oliver Sr. and Christian Ballard; brothers, Oliver Jr. and James Ballard; and sisters, Louviena Johnson and Etna Maze.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Sunlight Baptist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at Triumph Baptist Church Cemetery. (Jones)
