Rosma “Rose” Duet Cheramie, 94, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 1:05 p.m.

She is survived by two sons, R.J. Cheramie and wife, Jeanette, and Raymond “Frip” Cheramie and wife, Norma; one daughter, Myriel C. Chiasson and husband, Eugene; two daughters-in-law, Eva Mae Terrebonne and Dot Weidel; one brother, Camille Rebstock Jr.; three sisters, Nancy Thibodaux, Earline Rome and Rosemary Rome; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Cheramie; her parents, Joseph and Anita Plaisance Duet; two sons, Eldon Cheramie and Rodney Cheramie; three brothers, Sidney, Simon and Joseph Duet; and two sisters, Josephine “Corina” Terrebonne and Rosa Duet.

Rosma was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and a Eucharistic Minister.

She is buried at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Cemetery in Golden Meadow.
