Roy Elvin Alexander, 78, a native of Marshall, Texas, and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010.


Mr. Alexander was a member of First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3700 and the American Legion Post 31. He was a Korean War veteran and served in the Navy Sea Bees. He loved working overseas for McDermott. He enjoyed playing cards and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Voisin Alexander; son, Bruce (Sharon) Alexander; daughters, Charmaine (Danny Raffray) Alexander and Roxanne (Frankie) Gee; stepsons, John Haglund, and Darryl (Gayle) and Kaylen (Amanda) Domangue; stepdaughters, Roslyn Billiot, Lisa (Gary) Cunningham and Carla (Paul) Porche; seven grandchildren, Jason and Sara Alexander, Chelsea Breaux, Terrell III and Matthew Matherne, Joshua Malbrough and Aarence Price III; four great-grandchildren, Trey and Cameron Matherne, Aarence Price IV and Cole Malbrough; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Kelly and Bessie Faye York; and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by one son, Geoffrey Alexander; parents, Lotis Mack and Nora Emeline Hopkins Alexander; his first wife, Claudette Golden Alexander Morgan; second wife, Frances G. Haglund Alexander; five brothers, Edward Worbington, and J.D., Clyde, Therman and Ray Alexander; and four sisters, Lerine Alexander, Inez Nunez, Dorothy Clarke and Carrol Harrison.

He is buried at the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
