Roy Francis Breerwood Sr., 91, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012.

Mr. Breerwood was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart, Flying Cross and the Bronze Star medals. He was an oil field representative for Oilwell Supply Company for 35 years, president of the HARC Duplicate Bridge Club, a member of the Knight Twirlers Square Dance Club, a Silver Life Master in bridge, and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and supported many Catholic charitable organizations.


He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Delmae Breerwood; sons, Roy Jr. (Cheryl) and Glen (Mary) Breerwood; daughter, Ellen (William) Chauvin; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jr. and Cecilia Breerwood; and brother, Elmer Breerwood.

Burial was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
