Roy Joseph Martinez, 63, a native of Donaldsonville, La., and a resident of Paincourtville, La., died Wednesday, January 28.
He is survived by his wife, Dodie Simoneaux Martinez of Paincourtville; daughters, Emelie “Emy” Martinez of Belle Rose, La., Elizabeth “Liz” and husband Troy Blanchard of Belle Rose, Josie and husband Corey Falcon of Paincourtville and Maggie and husband Jason Dupuy of Darrow; sister, Alice Martinez of Donaldsonville; brother, Ronnie Martinez and wife Jane of Metairie, La.; grandchildren, Katie and Kayla Schexnayder, and Brooke and Candice Blanchard; and two grandchildren that will be born soon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Doris LeBlanc Martinez.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a chemical operator for 34 years and an Assumption Parish Police employee. He was an usher at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and enjoyed doing things for others
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, January 30, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, with interment at the church mausoleum.
Ourso Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
