Roy J. Robichaux, 72, a native and resident of Larose, La., died Sunday, August 5, 2007, after suffering a stroke the evening of his 50th wedding anniversary, August 3, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Plaisance Robichaux; one daughter, Maureen Robichaux O’Brien; one son, Barry P. Robichaux; one brother, Richard E. Robichaux; five grandchildren, Michael and Matthew O’Brien, Andrew, Ashley, and Alexis, Robichaux; and two nephews, Kenny and Kerry Robichaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond T. and Essie Chaiasson Robichaux.
Roy was a devout Catholic and a retired teacher with 32 1/2 years in Lafourche Parish School System. He was a United States Army Veteran and an avid reader. He enjoyed gardening and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
Visitation is Wednesday, August 8, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
