Royce J. Blanchard, 82, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died at 7:59 a.m. Tuesday, November 11.


He is survived by his wife, Shirley Usey Blanchard; one son, Dean Joseph Blanchard and wife Bonnie M. Blanchard; two daughters, Theresa B. Pitre and husband Anthony Pitre, and Terri B. Chiasson and husband Carl Chiasson; four brothers, Walton “ToTo,” Douglas, “TaTo,” Claude and Roger “Bobbie” Blanchard; one sister, Joyce B. Terrebonne; six grandchildren, Brian, Roy and Joshua Blanchard, Dustin Pitre and Carlin and Jon Chiasson; and three step-grandchildren, Taylor, Blaize and Devon Rodrigue.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Flerida T. Blanchard; and two sisters, Peggy B. Honeyfield and Grace B. Cheramie.

He was a retired Texaco employee and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, November 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
