Russell “Dobi” John Ockmond, 71, a native of Vacherie, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, March 30, at 6:43 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Metcalf Ockmond; children, Fawn, Russell Jr., Nicole, Shelen, Angelle, Joshua and Matthew; brother, Robert Jr.; sisters, Barbara, Diana, Betty, Gloria and Lillian; and grandchildren, Kirsten, Jared, Kenneth, Pierce Joseph, Kyle, Kate and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert John Ockmond and Lillian Marie Luquette Ockmond; and brother, Lawrence.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at Landry’s Funeral Home in Thibodaux and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
