Russell T. Breaux, 75, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, La., became entrusted to God’s care after passing peacefully at home surrounded by his family Tuesday, Oct. 20.


“Paw Paw Russell” will be greatly missed by Glenda Breaux of Morgan City; one son, Dwayne Breaux and wife Karen of Morgan City; three daughters, Bobbie Ramer and husband John of Lafayette, La., Roxanne Martinez and husband Gordon of Chackbay, La., and Terri Robertson and husband Andrew of Thibodaux, La.; 14 grandchildren, Sean and wife Marcela, Kevin, Jeffrey and Robert Breaux, Eric, Travis and Amanda Ramer, Melissa Stanford and husband Sam, Brittany, Brandon and Bryce Boudreaux, Thomas Giroir and Peyton and Alyssa Martinez; three great-grandchildren, Raegan Stanford, Addalyn Abadie and Aubrie Elyse; and two brothers, Donald Breaux and wife Cal of Houma, La., and Wallace Ackman of Calumet, La.


Russell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one grandson.

Russell was a prominent businessman and the owner of Breaux’s Carpets for 38 years where he was known as “The Carpet Man”. His family was the most important part of his life and he enjoyed all the happy times they spent together.

Pallbearers to serve will be Dwayne Breaux, Andrew Robertson, Gordon Martinez, John Ramer, Eric Ramer, Travis Ramer, Brandon Boudreaux and Kevin Breaux. Honorary Pallbearers to serve will be Jeffrey Breaux, Bryce Boudreaux, Robert Breaux and Thomas Giroir.

A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Hargrave Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial at Morgan City Cemetery.

Hargrave Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
