Ruth Boquet Lecompte, 84, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Aug. 8.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Philip R. LeCompte Sr. of Houma; four sons, Philip LeCompte Jr. and wife Gail of Houma, Lynn LeCompte and wife Jan of Houma, Glenn LeCompte and wife Debbie of Houma, and Tommy LeCompte and wife Stephanie of Houma; two daughters, Connie Boudreaux and husband Raymond Boudreaux Jr. of Houma, and Annette Poiencot and husband Lloyd of Houma; two brothers, Norris Boquet Jr. of Houma, and Francis “Pete” Boquet of Houma; one sister, Twilla Armstrong of Houma; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris Pierre Boquet and Annette Walker Boquet; one son, Terry LeCompte; one brother, J.D. Boquet; one and grandchild, Derrick Porche.

She was a homemaker. She was Catholic, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and a member of St. Francis de Sales Ladies Auxiliary.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
