Ruth Awagain Guzzetta, 91, a native of Rayville, La., and resident of Berwick, La., died Sunday May 22, 2011.
Mrs. Guzzetta was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Natchitoches, La., and Nicholls State University. She taught at Berwick Elementary School and Berwick High School. She was a long time volunteer at Teche Regional Hospital in Morgan City, La., and a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Don Ray Guzzetta; brother, Kirby Awagain; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Guzzetta; parents, Augusta and Salim Awagain; and brother, Albert Awagain.
Burial was at Berwick Mausoleum. (Hargrave)
