September 6, 2011Ruth Josephine Smith Authement, 80, a native of Daigleville, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 12:38 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011.
Mrs. Authement was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Authement and Toni (Jimmy) Lackey; brothers, Clarence and James (Yvonne) Smith; grandchildren, Jimmy (Michelle) Lackey, Lisa (Scotty) Aucoin and Erica (Christopher) Fanguy; six great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Authement; parents, Clarence and Lena Smith; son, Korl Authement; brothers, Alvin, Milton and JC Smith; and sister, Margorie Guidry
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
