Ruth Brown Livas, 84, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA. and resident of Schriever, LA., died Sunday, April 15, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at New Magnolia Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Halfway cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph “Martha” Livas Jr.;James, Larry “Linda” and Terrance “Faye” Livas; her daughter, JoAnn “Leroy” Ellis; her brothers, James Jr. and Issac Brown Jr.; seven grandchildren;and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Livas, Sr.; her parents, Alma P. and Rev. James Brown, Sr.; her daughter, Lorraine Livas Johnson; her brothers, Joseph and Junius Brown; her sister, Rebecca Brown; and her grandparents, Joseph Brown I and Elmer Brown.
She was a member of New Magnolia Baptist Church where she served on the Steward Board.
She enjoyed cooking.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
