Ruth Watson Rochel, 92, a native of Plaquemine, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 6 p.m. Aug. 14, 2010.
She is survived by her son, Billy (Gail) Rochel; daughter-in-law, Faye Rochel; brother, Nolan Watson; three grandchildren, Dennis (Nadine) Rochel, Steven (Sonia) Rochel and Chad Rochel; two great-grandchildren, Renee and Spencer Rochel; four step-great-grandchildren, Kami and Kaci Scott, and Megan and Gerard Molaison; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Hilarie Theriot Samera Ordoyne and Ophelia Molaison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Rochel Jr.; parents, William and Bertha Hohensee Watson; one son, Melvyn B. Rochel; four brothers, Austin, Lloyd, Lynn and Earl Watson; and two sisters, Bertha Wells and Nellie Watson.
She is buried at Gibson Methodist Cemetery.
