Samuel Harvey Sr., 91, died Friday, July 22, 2011.

He is survived by his children, Joyce (Ralph) Calvey, Samuel Jr. (Dianne), Jacquelyn, Vanessa and Reginald Harvey, Lois (Reynard) Mitchell, Carol Marshall, Gail Belton, Janice (Lee) McClendon, Carleen Millon and Troy (Alphonse) Arceneaux; brother-in-law, Jerry Reynolds Sr.; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Harvey; children, Dennis, Denise and Gwendolyn Harvey; parents, Emma Harvey and Charles Mille; sisters, Alma Singleton and Rebecca Young; brother, Daniel Gardner; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, July 29 at Charbonnet-Labat-Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip St. with services to follow. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
