Shane Paul Gibson, 35, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Los Angeles, Calif., died Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Mr. Gibson was best known for being the touring guitarist for the band Korn in 2007. His main band, stOrk, released an album in 2011. The band’s sophomore release is slated for release in April 2014. He was known around the shred community for his solo work and was a founding member of the heavy metal/comedy act SchwarZenatoR. He was truly a master at his craft and anyone who has ever had the pleasure of hearing him play will never forget the music he created.
He is survived by his parents, Lee and Elaine Gibson; brother, Aaron Gibson; and fiancé, Jenny Manson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, P.W. and Thelma Gibson and Morris and Josephine Boquet.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, La., with services to follow. (Samart)
