March 23, 2012Shirley Virginia Scranton Ewing, 72, a native of Rockford, Ill., and resident of Houma, La., died at 2:32 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012.
Mrs. Ewing enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.
She is survived by her sons, Clarence Jr. (Angie) and David (Ann) Ewing; daughters, Verena Foret and Anita (Craig) Voisin; brothers, Gordon (Bonnie), Cecil (Cheryl) and Glynn (Mona) Scranton; sisters, Dorothy (Harvey) Henson, Audrey (Arthur) Trabue, Janet (Thomas) Hubbard, Lynn (Frank) Vollmer and Mary (Charles) White; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ewing Sr.; parents, Truman and Mildred Scranton; brothers, Smithy, Larry and Rex Scranton; and sisters, Leola Scranton and Paula Gollaher.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Samart Funeral Home with services to follow. (Samart)
