Sidney Elfert, 88, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011.
Mr. Elfert was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, a member of St. Bernadette Knights of Columbus and VFW. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Alzina Knight Elfert; sons, Michael (Jamie) and Richard (Tina); brother, Charles Elfert; sister, Winnie Grundon; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Leonore Bernard Elfert; one daughter, Julianne Elfert; and two sisters, Hilda Hebert and Hazel Daigle.
He is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
