Sophie Pellegrin Blanchard, 90, a native of Little Caillou, La., and a resident of Schriever, La., died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, October 26.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda B. and husband Hubert Benoit, Diane Blanchard and Gayle B. and husband Ronald Cope, all of Schriever; fifteen grandchildren, Craig Benoit, Tracy B. Barrett, Brent Benoit, Dean Benoit, Corey Benoit, Jason Benoit, Holly B. Prestenbach, Eric Benoit, Lisa LeBlanc Hebert, Henry LeBlanc, Troy LeBlanc, Julie Eschete Foret, Tana Cope Robertson, Thomas Cope and Terry Cope; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Henry Joseph Blanchard; her parents, Lucien and Helene Chauvin Pellegrin; one son, Daniel Blanchard; one grandson, Mark Benoit and one great-grandson, Brandon Benoit; two brothers, Harold Elden and Fay Pellegrin; and three sisters, Nina P. Kelly, Muriel P. Hall and Anne P. Boquet.
She was buried at St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery in Schriever.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
