Stanley Joseph Marchand Jr., 74, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Gulfport, Miss., died Feb. 15, 2010.


Mr. Marchand was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and a member of the American Legion. He worked for the state Department of Highways for two years; the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office for 18 years; and T. Baker Smith for 31 years.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald and Kirk (Wanda) Marchand of Houma, La.; daughter, Sandra (Chad) Hurst of Houma; brother, Forest Marchand of Houma; and sister, Shirley Bunch of Houma; grandchildren, Wesley and Jody Marchand, and Christy, Chad and Destin Hurst; and great-grandchildren, Sage and Caden Hurst, and Leland Vito.
