Sterling “Fine Quality” Brown, 61, a native and resident of Belle Rose, La., died at his residence, Monday, July 30, 2007.

He is survived by three sons, Corey Henry Brown, Chandro Brown, and Phil Brown and his wife Shontell Dumas; six daughters, Sandra Russ, Shadawn Brown, Quine Bridges, Jadawn B. Darensbourg and her husband Kevin, Ivana Green and her husband Ronald, and Tamara Williams; three brothers, Herbert Brown Jr., Allen Brown, and Ernest Brown, Sr. and his wife Trulane; five sisters, Virgie Landry, Ruby North and her husband Wilbert, Ruth Carter and her husband Willie, Rachel Landry and her husband Albert, and Betty Solite and her husband Robert; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous relatives.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Elizabeth W. Brown; one brother, Jimmy Brown; and one grandchild, Mya Dumas.

Visitation is Saturday, August 4, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Greater Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
