October 6, 2011Sterling “Pingo” Phillip Authement Sr., 73, a native of Chauvin, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.
Mr. Authement was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was a self employed fisherman who enjoyed skimming, drying shrimp, making nets, playing guitar and dancing. Throughout his lifetime, he built over 50 boats. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Vesta Authement; sons, Sterling Jr., Cecil (Irma) and Rickey Authement; daughters, Roxana (Richard) LeBouef and Madge (Jamey) Hebert; brother, Arnold (Gale) Authement; sister, Judy (Earl) Jackson; six stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Authement; parents, Israel Marcelle and Mary Authement; and sister, Margie Thibodaux.
Burial was at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Bourg. (Samart)
