Vandebilt High seniors share Christmas spirit

December 20, 2010Sylvia M. Demere, 86, a native of Chokoloskee Island, Fla., and resident of Leeville, La., died at 4:11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010.
Mrs. Dernere was Pentacostal and a member of Lighthouse Worship Center.
She is survived by her sons, Delton (Mary) and Damas (Connie) Demere; daughter, Bernice Kibodeaux; brother, Giggs Brown; sister, Wanda Townsand; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayland Demere; parents, Doc and Hilda Brown; two brothers, James Stevens and Albert Brown; one sister, Gracie June; and one grandchild.
She is buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, La.
