Theresa Florence Trahan Duplantis, 94, a native of Big Bayou Black, La., and a lifelong resident of Upper Little Caillou, La., entered eternal life Wednesday, June 17, at 3:15 a.m.


She is survived by his daughters, June Dupre and Joy Duplantis; granddaughters, Lisa Comeaux and Laura Pontiff; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew and Emily Comeaux, Sara Marie and Madison Pontiff; great-great-grandchildren, Zoe, Justin and Austin Marie; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.


She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Willard Duplantis; parents, Mary and Clay Trahan; brother, Adley Trahan; and sisters, Drucella Conners and Margery Gervais.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the doctors and staff at Haydel Medical Clinic, to the staff at Louisiana Home Care of Houma, Journey Hospice Staff, and all family and friends who supported us through this delicate and difficult time. A special and blessed thank you goes to Father Wilmer Todd, who was always available to ease Theresa’s pain and to console the family. The family sincerely thanks the funeral home staff for the services they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Leukemia Foundation.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma, La., with mass to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
