Thomas Edward Lavender, 76, a native of Spartenburg, S.C., and resident of Bayou Black, La., died Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Mr. Lavender was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua and a retired outside salesman for Morrison Home Center. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Unity Lodge No. 267 F&AM. He was a very devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and he truly enjoyed having his family, friends and neighbors come over to visit.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bernadette Lavender; son, Toby Lavender; daughter, Felicia Giroir; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Lavender; and sister, Jeanette Stewart.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Unity Lodge No. 267 F&AM with services to follow. (Samart)
