Timothy “Big Poe” Darryl Porche, 52, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Gray, La., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011.

Mr. Porche was a welder for more than 23 years, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bayou Blue. He was a man of few words who was heard loudly through his presence. He loved his family and friends dearly. “Big Poe” was a wonderful chef, and a true outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. Although his stature was big, he was a kid at heart and everyone’s Teddy Bear. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. May his spirit ride on!

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Porche; sisters, Ginger (Clay Sr.) Rouse and Becky (Jeffrey) Sutton; niece and nephew, Brittney Lynn and Clay Jr. Rouse; and three godchildren, Joshua Paul Boudreaux, Clay Rouse Jr. and Charley Renee Poole.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clark Joseph Porche; and his grandparents, Felix and Elmira “Maw Maw” Porche, Frank and Anna Jean “Meenie Maw” Lococo, and Elmo McKaughan.

He is buried at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a Diabetes or Breast Cancer Foundation of your choice.

In honor of “Big Poe,” the family invited his fellow bikers to arrive at the funeral services with their bikes. They parked out front of the church representing that bikers ride to live and live to ride.
