Tommie Marie Hebert, 88, a resident of Lafayette, La., died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010.


Mrs. Hebert graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma, La., and went on to nursing school at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La. She had worked as a registered nurse at St. Ann’s General Hospital in Raceland, La., for many years. She was a life active member in ESA International, a member of the Alpha Kappa Chapter in Houma and was a founding member of the Alpha Omega Chapter in Lafayette. She served as Louisiana state president, SERC president and received her fifth Pallas Athene. Mrs. Hebert was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.


She is survived by her husband, Paul Robert Hebert; daughter, Melissa (Kevin) Parks; son, Rev. Paul “Skip” (Judith) Hebert; six grandchildren, Troy Mattei, Rachel Reaid, Rebekah Woessner, Joel Robert Hebert, and Katie and Kelly Parks; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Lindsey Reaid.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Mattei; her parents, Henry “Uncle Sam” and Emma Engeron Marie; seven brothers; and three sisters.


She is interred at Calvary Mausoleum.

The Rev. Thomas Habetz, associate pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Katie Parks and Rachel Reaid. Eulogist will be the Rev. Paul “Skip” Hebert. Pallbearers will be Kevin Parks, Joel Robert Hebert, Michael Reaid and Louis Woessner.
