Tony (Doug) Burgess, 46, a native of Defuniack Springs, Fl., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, February 18, at 12:30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Ann Jones Burgess; daughters, Nikki and companion Jermaine Verdin, and Brittany Burgess; brother, Michael Burgess; sisters, Samantha Fanguy and husband Travis Fanguy, Jace and Amiyah Verdin; sister-in-law, Tracey Boudwin; brother-in-law, Chad Jones and fiancé Noelle Davis; mother-in-law, Linda B. Jones; father-in-law, Calloway H. Jones; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jr. and Patricia Pledger Burgess; maternal grandparents, J.P. and Doris Pledger; and paternal grandparents, Samuel Sr. and Jessie Burgess.
He was a fan of Mardi Gras, NASCAR 24, NHRA and fishing. He enjoyed being with his loving family.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 21, at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis II Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
