Ulysses “U-Liss” Paul Ward, 64, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday Feb. 22, 2008.


He is survived by his wife, Sandra Simmons Ward of Thibodaux, son, Christopher Paul Ward; sister, Maty Elouise “Doll” Thomas of Napoleonville, La.; and granddaughter, G’aire Jones.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Charleston Sr and Louise Ward; brothers, Phillip, Harold, Wilfred, Charleston Jr. and Ronald Ward; and sister, Audrey Ann Moore.

He was a parishioner of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post # 513, member of VFW Post 5097, member of Vietnam Veterans Organization and a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church Men’s Club. He enjoyed gardening and watching sports on T.V.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Veterans Ceremonies will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
