Ursin Anthony Champagne, 88, a native and resident of Gheens, La., died Saturday, May 24, 2014.


Mr. Champagne was a World War II veteran and a member of the VFW and St. Hilary Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Champagne; sons, Clyde (Lucia), Melvin and Darren Champagne; daughter, Shirleen (Gerald) Champagne; sister, Sherrie Guidry; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Champagne; parents, Gussie and Virlie Champagne; and brother, Gary Champagne.


Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport, La., and 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Mathews, La., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport. (Falgout)
